HAPPY EASTER Everyone!!!! In the south we are enjoying warm days but in the north it seems like winter just won’t go way. Guess many Easter egg hunts will have to be inside this year. Our present park has a Church Service, Potluck and Easter Egg Hunt tomorrow in honour of this special celebration. (Sorry but I ignored a ‘St Pats Greeting’ all together – that celebration just got away from me).

A FEW MISSED HIGHLIGHTS OF THE PAST TWO WEEKS

En route from Texas to Perry has been exciting to say the least – we have stayed at some super spots and a few we will never return to. Some of the good ones I have already highlighted. We wanted to be close to Perry for an early arrival at The Rally so a stop at ASHBURN INN & RV PARK – 50 miles away made sense. Although it was part of the Passport Am System with a 50% rate of $8.50 – it was definitely a less than perfect place. Power and water were good, but although we had three sewer connections on our site, two were filled to capacity and the third was ‘walking’ big time. During reservations we were told a restaurant was on site, but choices for John’s 70th B’Day celebration consisted of a Subway and Dairy Queen.

In the Panhandle, we stayed for 2-nights at the superior EAGLES LANDING RV PARK in Holt, Florida. This quality park features spacious full service grassy sites with 30-50 Amp power. WiFi is available for a very low rate. Shopping and the famous sugar sandy beaches of the Panhandle are close by. Dick and Judie Riblet own this park as their headquarters of RECREATION USA – $10.00 PER NIGHT CAMPING CLUB. This twosome also hosts a 25% discount club featuring Big Rig sites. Members of one club receive a complimentary membership in the adjoining club. Not all parks like to offer 50% discounts but 25% is better than the standard 10%. All listings of both clubs are available & current on the Recreation USA websites – no directory that goes out of print. Club cost is $34.00 (6-months) and $44.00 for either $10./25%. Click Here for Details on $10.00 per night

And Here for their 25% clubbe sure to relay that P&J sent you.

WE LEFT THE RALLY TUESDAY

On Monday another 150 attended my RV TRAVEL TO CANADA PPT SEMINAR. Since it was the last seminar time-slot of The Rally I did not expect many so I was extremely happy with the attendance. I tweaked my presentation after each seminar so it was definitely my best talk. That evening we attended the finale entertainment and it was super. JAMIE ROBERTS from Walt Disney Shows put on a superior one-women show. What a super way to close the rally. All in all hers was a fantastic fun presentation.

FYI – Booked registration reached 3439 UNITS AT PERRY–8000 attendees. Total units at this venue reached close to 5000 when all show/vendor coaches were included.

Checking into the comfy ‘THREE FLAGS RV PARK’ (RPI/C2C Membership Park) in Wildwood, Florida last Tuesday was a super decision. We have been able to socialize almost daily with my sister Nancy and hubby Bud in nearby Bushnell. This park has expanded since our earlier stops with C2C. Last Tuesday we checked in using RPI (Resorts Parks International) and has it ever expanded in the past 10 years. In their new part where we are, sites are level & spacious with good hook-ups, but very few trees to interfere with the satellites. Even though the sites are not full, park activities are still featured. We plan to take part in the Easter celebrations tomorrow.

Our stay here has been great because Nan and Bud are only 15 miles away and we have enjoyed socializing and dining out at the many restaurants. Bushnell and Wildwood areas are rapidly growing. Big name eateries are still not locally located, but Denny’s, IHOP and Sonny’s (Ribs) (Carla and Paul – previous friends from this area joined us at Sonny’s) I am happy to say I was able to stay with my healthy eating plan. Restaurant food can at times present a bit of a problem – it is great to see these venues are finally changing – most feature special low-fat reduced calorie entries. (I have been slowly, but steadily loosing mega unwanted pounds with LA Weightloss since last August. Great program – I’ll discuss those details in a later post. Send me an email if you want details).

FINAL THOUGHTS

The news portion of this post is a bit reduced because I have many TIPS/PROMOS to share that have arrived by email the last two weeks. FYI-Ref our trip plans – Tuesday we’ll overnight at Wal*Mart in Bushnell, Wednesday to Saturday we are at Florida Pines RV Park, Englewood – Saturday is travel day to White Springs, Fl. If any of you are nearby, please touch base with us. As my sister Nancy says–“Never drive faster than your Guardian angels can fly”. Travel safe all, no matter where you are and we do hope the cold and snow leaves soon. Take care P&J
